When asked about the inspiration of the technology, DataCorps' founder, Angel Rojas, replied, "We were not interested in re-inventing the wheel so we tried to incorporate existing technologies in a way that would be meaningful. We looked to NASA, since they are accustomed to working in environments where failure is not an option, and found the perfect technology in their Apollo mission backup systems." Mr. Rojas elaborated that when the mission computers failed on the way to the moon, NASA's tried and true backup systems kicked in and finished the job. The new technology is robust, but raised some concerns about long-term data retention. To address this, another technology was introduced to allow small businesses to comply with their data retention and data destruction policies. Again, not wanting to re-invent the wheel, DataCorps turned to existing and proven technologies to solve the problem. When asked about the data destruction technology, Rojas replied, "I thought back to some of the greatest moments in history when it comes to data destruction and was inspired by Enron and their 100% effective data destruction methods." The technology is effective, easy to use, and inexpensive to implement. Now, small-business can securely wipe their media an comply with data destruction & retention policies with little effort or training.
The most ground-breaking revelations about the technologies are how easy they are to operate and inexpensive to acquire. "Virtually everyone will find their use intuitive and the learning curve will be small. It's as though they've been using these technologies all their lives", Rojas elaborated.
